Chef DeAnna, aka Diana Paterra, a New Jersey native with over 30 years of restaurant experience, is the chef/owner at DeAnna’s. Her love affair with food began as a child with total immersion in Italian-American culture. Her grandparents were the culinary inspiration—rolling, canning, braising, roasting, blanching, and of course, making all kinds of homemade pasta. From pasta making to butchering, DeAnna lived and breathed (and ate) Italian. DeAnna specializes in authentic, simple but delicious and consistent Italian cuisine with a focus on healthy and fresh ingredients.

DeAnna’s has been in Lambertville, NJ since 1990, 15 1/2 years in a small 30 seat cozy space and currently 14 years in an iconic building with a more space and a liquor license. We have a beautiful garden for al fresco dining and have live jazz every Friday. DeAnna has been recognized in many well known publications and has been invited to be on the Food Network. Most recently, DeAnna was honored as New Jersey’s top female chef by USA Today 2018. She is currently working on a cookbook as well as a coffee table book to honor all of the years of decorating (something DeAnna’s is known for). DeAnna’s partner Lisa Nichols is the pastry chef, front of the house and the creative genius behind the decor. Together they have created an authentic, warm restaurant where everyone feels like staying.
